Not true, most good pvp team builds will have at least one ele with a couple of AOE spells for things such as dislodging enemy teams on alters. AOE can be useful against real players *because* it causes them to scatter.

PS: Clearly the obvious answer is that we need to replace all monsters with varying levels and types of Tengu.

I suspect that this will make gameplay much easier.

Because they mucked it up completly and its NOT imporoved the AI.

Go troll farming with balths, this is what i saw. (and this is just one example of the buggy AI).

I get 10 trolls attacking me, i hit balths arua. Now they start running away / then back / then away / then back

2 of them just stood there INSIDE of the aoe, doing nothing.

thats just one reason why im upset.

Also farming is now slower and more grinder, YES when im in a team i want intelligent enemies (which these arnt). but farming is also part of the game, and its now slow and boring and not worth the effort, it used to be fun.

But then i wouldnt solo at all, if the drops in groups didnt suck so hard.

kareel, I am so with you on this point. I don't understand why people think they should be able to solo the high level areas. There isn't a single MMO out there where you can do that.

ANet accidentally let an exploit through and are now trying to fix it.

to be honest Anet/NCsoft went out of their way to state that it was not an MMORPG but a CORPG (cooperative online rpg) and it was the reviewers who hung the MMORPG tag on it.

my next guess for a real howl is when they fix the AI so a group of skeleton rangers will follow you around the corner of a building instead of shooting at the wall while you regain energy/health and laugh at how stupid they are

can you imagine the outrage

Umm its an mmo. Regardless of what anet tried to do is an mmo. Massive multiplayer online game. It may be different in gameplay than many mmo's but its massive(opinion I guess) multiplayer online and a game. Its am rpg as well is its an mmorpg. Call it what you want doesn't change anything. Always thought it was a lame way to gain customers. The Ai should never be as smart in PvE or even close to players in PvP. Look at epinephrines post its either in thisthread or the other but it was long and explained what everybody is trying to say. An example was that if the ai was smart why would they ever go in groups of 2-3. They will all go and huddle together right inside aggro range for everyone. Therfore you could not aggro 1 without aggroing, well everything.

Good point, but why should they have the advantage over us in seeing ALL of the casting bars - we can only see what the npc we have targetted is casting, If they run because they see it being cast are we to assume that it just happens that ALL the npc's were targetting the person casting at that second in time? Or should we believe they have a binary version of ts where they tell each other that an AoE is about to be cast? As far as interupting, how did they manage before the update that started showing the casting bar, because i can still remember getting disrupted while casting even when the bar didnt show up.

Because there is a balance between "smart" and "fun"; this is still a game. You are grossly outnumbered on every quest and mission.

I still want the monsters I face to have some level of intelligence and some sense of self-preservation... what's the point in lawnmowering through a game?

Now if the enemy was really smart they'd have healers, mesmers, rangers, ele's, necros and warriors in every group. But then combat would takes ages and everyone would start complaining again...

The reason to farm is to get gold and good items right.. why not make high end quests for these uber runes and items...say u save the dwarf prince in mineral springs from a strong party of mursaat or avicara. The reward is one choice on a list of items ,..gold / superior whatever. or make it so u have to do several quests to earn that perfect axe.. what floating eye ball is gonna be carrying a warhammer anyway??

Wouldn't take ages. Death Penalty would be accumulated faster than you can count due to the Tank+Monk+Nuke demand.

That's another complaint I have. I don't want halfway jobs. If they are going to make the ai smart sure include every class in a group. But lower the levels. Then it would get interesting. Now its still chaos and this update didn't help improve anything.

ok all this complaining is annoying me first of all i will admit i was one of the bigger complainers about these updates. and yes i stil dislike them but i respect anet for trying to fix somthing taht was broken. thoguh they failed to correct it i give them credit for trying. so plz lets all stop complaining and just learn how to play the game w/ the new update. now maybe more people will pvp and or gvg

I'd like to add that Anet has added an PvP ideal into PvE which isn't making PvEers happy.

This is the stupidest thing to introduce before Anet releases Chapter 2 because player may choose to play something else and not spent their money on Chapter 2

This game is sposed to be based on SKILL. Farming req. a lot of skill and rewarded you kindly if you did it right. So getting rid of it is kind of like going against what Guild Wars is based on.

This is the most flamed update I think Guild Wars has ever seen. Over 1000 posts on this thread (75% of which are against I think) and this is showing no sign of calming down.

I have never seen any pentions against farming BEFORE this update if there are any can someone give me a link.

If Anet is so against Farming they should put Quests that give a large amount of gold to replace it or take one of the many suggestion found in the suggest forums.

Why try PvP or GvG? What is sooooo appealing about it? I've tried and met with some success. But I prefer PvE, following the story and so on. If that was there goal, to try and get others to play the PvP side, bad idea. It won't work for the majority of people out there.

like i said they failed to correct what they were trying to do and possibly it could make more people try pvping or gvging(which has more point thanks to the guild ladder)
